Photographic Monitoring

Photographic Monitoring
Air Resource Specialists, Inc. is experienced with a variety of high-resolution digital camera systems, 35mm film cameras, and time-lapse video systems. ARS designs and fabricates digital systems that are self-contained, easily installed, and capable of capturing, storing, and transmitting high-resolution digital images from monitoring sites. Custom systems are also available for remote locations where climate controlled sheltering is not possible. See our Digital Camera Monitoring brochure for more information on high-resolution camera system services.

Web Sites / Interpretive Displays
With an increasing desire to raise public awareness and support decision-making related to air quality issues, ARS can provide clear and concise real-time information from air quality monitors. High-resolution still-frame digital images of meaningful scenic vistas provide the centerpiece of Web pages and visibility displays. In addition to the high quality digital image, related air quality data such as visual range, ozone concentration, fine particle concentration, and meteorology are often integrated into the Web pages and visibility displays. See Related Links to view various Web-camera systems ARS supports.
High-Resolution, Wide-Angle Systems
Enhanced, wide-angle digital camera systems are available that display a 120° field of view with high-resolution
(8 megapixels). The systems use JPEG2000 format compression to maintain image quality at reasonable file sizes. With a wide-angle system, image users can obtain a more complete, scenic view with more features of interest. Special applications of wide-angle systems include the ability to discern between local and regional haze events, or other air quality conditions.
