1996 – Present

The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality Air Quality Division (WDEQ-AQD) operates a network of air quality monitoring sites to ensure NAAQS standards are maintained throughout the state. ARS provides field, data, and project management support for several monitoring sites throughout the state of Wyoming.

Our field specialists perform regular preventative maintenance and calibration of all monitoring instrumentation including ozone, oxides of nitrogen, sulfur dioxide, methane/non-methane hydrocarbons, PM2.5 and/or PM10, visibility web cameras, and meteorological measurements. In addition, this team of specialists provides site operator training and real-time support and troubleshooting assistance to ensure data capture objectives are met.

Three of the WDEQ network stations are mobile trailers that are relocated annually. ARS designed, fabricated, and integrated all three mobile trailers in addition to regularly siting, relocating, and installing each of them. ARS manages all logistics of relocation including coordination with the landowners, local power companies, and electricians on behalf of the client to ensure that site installations run smoothly.

Our data team is tasked with the collection, validation, and reporting of all project air quality data. Data from all sites are downloaded hourly and reviewed daily for completeness and to check for anomalies. Issues are systematically tracked in a custom web-accessible database that sends automated messages to staff to allow for the timely resolution of problems. All data is aggregated monthly and validated using all available information, including automated calibration checks, field maintenance reports, and independent audit reports in accordance with EPA best practices and Wyoming QAPPs. ARS uploads validated data to Wyoming IMPACT database. Hourly data collection and images taken at 15-minute intervals are posted in real-time to the Wyoming WyVisNet website.

Our highly experienced team provides a full suite of services to support ambient air quality monitoring operational needs from station design and siting, installation, calibration and maintenance to data collection, validation, and reporting. We can customize each of these services based on the needs of our clients.
