ARS provides data collection, validation, and reporting services for gaseous, particulate, meteorological and scene data for WDEQ’s Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Network. Our staff specialize in data management for regulatory air quality monitoring. Data are collected hourly and reviewed daily by ARS’ data team to identify any inconsistencies, then moves through three levels of validation before being reported to WDEQ. Our team uses a custom database to automatically screen for, and flag anomalies as data are loaded. Validation procedures include careful examination of stacked time series plots, calibration plots, precision plots and datalogger flags and as well as thorough review of site logs and field documentation. Once validations codes have been applied, the codes are cross-checked again to ensure accuracy, and a joint review of data with field and data staff is performed.

ARS provides WDEQ with monthly data reports of preliminary data, 15-minute image uploads, as well as fully validated quarterly and annual reports to summarize site air quality, data, quality control checks, project status and significant events that occurred during the previous calendar quarter. ARS uploads all data reports and AQS-compatible files to WDEQ-AQD’s IMPACT system. In addition, all data and images are uploaded to the WyVisNet website to provide public access.
