A new community monitoring program to aid in the regulation of air toxics was implemented by Colorado Air Toxics Act (HB21-1189). The Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment Air Pollution Control Division (CDPHE-APCD) hired Air Resource Specialists to perform monitoring for benzene, hydrogen sulfide and hydrogen cyanide in disproportionately affected communities.
Our monitoring group has provided comprehensive ambient air quality, visibility, and meteorology support to the WEDEQ-AQD Air Quality Monitoring Network for over 20 years, including operations and data management of a number of permanent and mobile stations.
The National Park Service established its Gaseous Pollutant Monitoring Program (GPMP) to protect the air and other resources influenced by air quality in Class I areas. ARS has performed the operation and maintenance aspects of the NPS GPMP since 1988, and the data management aspects of the program since 1996.
