Air Toxic Monitoring

Air Monitoring Air Toxics/Hazardous Air Pollutants Monitoring

Air toxics or hazardous air pollutants are of interest for two reasons:

  • Health impacts on the population
  • As precursors to ozone formation

Air Resource Specialists has supported government and industry studies looking at the various impacts of air toxics and to compare traditional analyses with emerging sensor technologies. When laboratory analysis of air samples is required, ARS partners with one of several local or national laboratories best suited for the specific job. ARS support of air toxics monitoring includes, but is not limited to:

  • Real-time, continuous methane and non-methane hydrocarbon measurements
  • Real-time, continuous BTEX measurements
  • Summa canister ambient measurements, analyzed by a partner laboratory following EPA Compendium Method TO-15
  • Sorbent tube ambient measurements, analyzed by a partner laboratory following EPA Compendium Method TO-11
